The audience was convinced that Haroldo Frutos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mircea Avacariței was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Mircea Avacariței stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haroldo Frutos's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Angel Vasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 30 minutes, Haroldo Frutos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maravilla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Frutos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Angel Vasco hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. With his leg Virgilio Sal managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when FC Urzicuța's Turgay Sökmensu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sabin Hreapcă took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Virgilio Sal. Virgilio Sal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Urzicuța's goalkeeper Mircea Avacariței, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sabin Hreapcă stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Maravilla's zone, Sever Panait stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgilio Sal came out of the goal and Sever Panait tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Haroldo Frutos came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Maravilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Frutos couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sabin Hreapcă in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgilio Sal saved Maravilla from getting behind. FC Urzicuța were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
