After a defensive mix-up in Æsir Ásgarðr's zone, Jens Garberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Skarphéðinn Ormarsson came out of the goal and Jens Garberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute, Mathías Oddsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jens Garberg got free with Skarphéðinn Ormarsson in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the game, Æsir Ásgarðr's Ámundi Hallmundsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edvin Hodneland made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Edvin Hodneland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ámundi Hallmundsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Saga TF's Edvin Hodneland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarl Kormáksson in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Æsir Ásgarðr were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sebastian Onarheim was shown his second yellow card after 59 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Sebastian Onarheim kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Sólbjörn Guðnason who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Edvin Hodneland when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Saga TF's Edvin Hodneland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ámundi Hallmundsson in the 64th minute of play. Skarphéðinn Ormarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens Garberg in the 68th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Saga TF's goalkeeper Edvin Hodneland had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sólbjörn Guðnason. Saga TF's Edvin Hodneland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sólbjörn Guðnason in the 76th minute of play. Jarl Kormáksson struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Edvin Hodneland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Æsir Ásgarðr. Sólbjörn Guðnason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the match, Æsir Ásgarðr's goal looked a bit too open when Jens Garberg came free, but Skarphéðinn Ormarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
