Eugenio Gartxot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Olli-Pekka Suoste came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Papillon AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olli-Pekka Suoste couldn't finish the play. In the 10th match minute, Real Còrdoba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Berart to maneuver through the defense. Angelino Helguera made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Milton Friedman sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Hu Jian Liang sped through Papillon AC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eugenio Gartxot. In the 21st minute, Yu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eugenio Gartxot was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 26 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goal looked a bit too open when Hu Jian Liang came free, but Eugenio Gartxot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hu Jian Liang might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eugenio Gartxot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hu Jian Liang ran back to his position shaking his head. Eugenio Gartxot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hu Jian Liang's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Leopoldo Berart struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Eugenio Gartxot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Còrdoba FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Berart in the 43rd minute of play forced Papillon AC's goalkeeper Eugenio Gartxot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Real Còrdoba FC's goalkeeper Angelino Helguera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olli-Pekka Suoste. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olli-Pekka Suoste to strike the kick off in the second half. Real Còrdoba FC's Hu Jian Liang was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 55th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 59 minutes, Olli-Pekka Suoste mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Papillon AC and the Real Còrdoba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Papillon AC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Olli-Pekka Suoste hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Leopoldo Berart had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eugenio Gartxot. Papillon AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leopoldo Berart was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Leopoldo Berart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Gartxot having to interfere. After some careless play in the Papillon AC defense, Hu Jian Liang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eugenio Gartxot. The Papillon AC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugenio Gartxot should have stopped the shot. 72 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goalkeeper Eugenio Gartxot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hu Jian Liang. With his leg Eugenio Gartxot managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Real Còrdoba FC's Hu Jian Liang fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 80th minute, Hu Jian Liang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 84th minute Hu Jian Liang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Gartxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Driussi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelino Helguera having to interfere. Angelino Helguera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Fernando Quintero, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Eugenio Gartxot didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 90th minute, which inside left pole to 0-8. Real Còrdoba FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
