In the 4th minute Gustaf Högström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walther Hörster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walther Hörster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaf Högström in the 7th minute of the match. After 10 minutes, Georg Bank mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newcastle United F.C. and the BVB 09 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Newcastle United F.C. defense, Florin Tărău kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christoffer Dahlquist. The Newcastle United F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christoffer Dahlquist should have stopped the shot. Francisc Ionete hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, BVB 09's Iurie Niculiță seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Iurie Niculiță the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of BVB 09 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Iurie Niculiță had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 18 minutes into the game, one of BVB 09:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 20th minute there was a penalty for Newcastle United F.C.. Joar Åberg stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Walther Hörster. 1-1. Lucrețiu Agulescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christoffer Dahlquist having to make a save. After a rather tough play, BVB 09's Francisc Ionete got a free kick in the 38th minute. Vic Cos hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Florin Tărău stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, BVB 09's Vic Cos got a free kick in the 50th minute. BVB 09's Walther Hörster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isac Walmarsson in the 52nd minute of play. If Gustaf Högström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Georg Bank hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Walther Hörster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aron Östman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 95 played minutes Newcastle United F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Aron Östman.
