Wilfredo Rodriguez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben-Ami Amran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by G.R.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mário Azevedo was slow to take the kick. During this time Pindobassu EC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Pindobassu EC's Víktor Donatello getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The supporters of Pindobassu EC booed when G.R. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hiram Malik didn't get a good kick on the ball. G.R.'s Armen Werthein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Azevedo in the 19th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Nilmar Vargas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armen Werthein was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilmar Vargas in the 38th minute of play forced G.R.'s goalkeeper Armen Werthein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Dorian Hoffmann notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of G.R.'s Armen Werthein. Armen Werthein was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeff Beck made a kick off. After 54 minutes, Jedd Dotan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the G.R. and the Pindobassu EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th match minute, G.R. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jedd Dotan to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Janko Kaplan in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilfredo Rodriguez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nilmar Vargas scored 3-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armen Werthein, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jorginho Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armen Werthein having to interfere.
