Ray Büeler blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cafu Amaral having to make a save. The supporters of LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerome Achen didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 5th minute of play forced LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's goalkeeper Cafu Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon made a precise shot to the right of Cafu Amaral. LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF defense, Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cafu Amaral. The LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cafu Amaral should have stopped the shot. LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's Fernandinho Xavier got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernandinho Xavier's late challenge caught a FC Lugano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernandinho Xavier helped the player get up and apologised. After 27 played minutes LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Fernandinho Xavier. A collision led to LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Fernandinho Xavier hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 34th minute of play forced LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's goalkeeper Cafu Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Lugano booed when LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Augusto Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Pattharawut Sirikeartkumjorn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's Carlos Augusto Perez got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 41 played minutes, FC Lugano's Pattharawut Sirikeartkumjorn shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cafu Amaral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Lugano reached it. The FC Lugano fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when FC Lugano's Qiao Jian looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Qiao Jian to strike the kick off in the second half. Qiao Jian who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Cafu Amaral when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 52 minutes into the game, Jerome Achen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Lugano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Jerome Achen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute, FC Lugano's Qiao Jian dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Cafu Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. A collision led to LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Carlos Augusto Perez hit a great ball. FC Lugano made a substitution. Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg replaced Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon. Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul had several of the LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 65 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Cafu Amaral as he didn't even see the shot coming. Qiao Jian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Cafu Amaral made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vico Sticher in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cafu Amaral saved LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF from getting behind. LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's Cafu Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Qiao Jian in the 75th minute of play. FC Lugano's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg in the 76th minute. Cafu Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 77th minute of play. Nathongchai Borwongovitsakuls short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got Cafu Amaral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cafu Amaral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Qiao Jian showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 80 minute of play. Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Maria da Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Maria da Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th minute, José Maria da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute, Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cafu Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. If Qiao Jian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
