Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) FC Lugano's Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Godo Gøl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Pardini in the 5th minute of play. Godo Gøl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenico Corsi, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Alvise Castellazzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 11th minute. Dave Savini hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Alvise Castellazzi made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul sent off a good shot on target. Alvise Castellazzi came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Lugano's Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon. But to his dismay, Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Alvise Castellazzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 19th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Augusto Pardini had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Godo Gøl. FC Lugano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augusto Pardini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 30 played minutes Seggiano got a freekick which was hit by Domenico Corsi. FC Lugano's Qiao Jian was substituted for Ray Büeler. After 31 played minutes Seggiano got a freekick which was hit by Domenico Corsi. In the 32nd minute of the match, Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alvise Castellazzi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Alvise Castellazzi made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Qiao Jian sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute of the game Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon made a throw-in which Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul played forward. In the 41st minute Augusto Pardini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godo Gøl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augusto Pardini to make the kick off. Augusto Pardini might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Godo Gøl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Augusto Pardini ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 52nd minute Augusto Pardini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godo Gøl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Lugano made a substitution. Favian Muff replaced Teddy Racine. Godo Gøl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Pardini in the 63rd minute of play. When Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the FC Lugano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg couldn't finish the play. Godo Gøl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Domenico Corsi in the 68th minute. In the 71st minute Vico Sticher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvise Castellazzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvise Castellazzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vico Sticher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvise Castellazzi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Domenico Corsi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Augusto Pardini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Seggiano's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Pardini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Godo Gøl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alvise Castellazzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 83rd minute of play. Seggiano's Augusto Pardini got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bianco Masi's late challenge caught a FC Lugano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bianco Masi helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Seggiano's Bianco Masi got a free kick in the 91st minute. Alvise Castellazzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qiao Jian in the 93rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alvise Castellazzi saved Seggiano from getting behind. Seggiano's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
