The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 minutes, Décio Vides mouthed his way into the referee's book. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Gláuber Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Abechuco in the 7th minute of play. Gláuber Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateo Abechuco in the 12th minute of play. After some careless play in the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE defense, Mateo Abechuco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gláuber Mattos. The CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gláuber Mattos should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute, Mateo Abechuco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gláuber Mattos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Simamane LuaLua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gláuber Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Jaunzuria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gláuber Mattos came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Majadita FC's Salvador Qwinton. But to his dismay, Salvador Qwinton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The supporters of Majadita FC booed when CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Augusto Jaunzuria left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Majadita FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. After 43 minutes of play, Majadita FC's Augusto Jaunzuria made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gláuber Mattos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-5 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hudson Abreu made a kick off. After some careless play in the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE defense, Agustin Orlondon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gláuber Mattos. The CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gláuber Mattos should have stopped the shot. Gláuber Mattos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Frederico Mattos's late challenge caught a Majadita FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frederico Mattos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Frederico Mattos got a free kick in the 85th minute. After 91 minutes CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Salvador Qwinton who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hudson Abreu in the 93rd minute of play forced Majadita FC's goalkeeper Daniel Benvido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
