Zlatko Goričan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Yassine Bounou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 16 minutes, German Pezzella mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yala and the HIT Gorica players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, German Pezzella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yassine Bounou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jernej Petrovič, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute of the match HIT Gorica got a corner. Yala's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Istok Šabotić ran over to the corner to take the kick. HIT Gorica's Istok Šabotić was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Yassine Bounou in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Yala's Jorge Nesor couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for HIT Gorica. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niki Bundev in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Konstantin Pančur prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute Niki Bundev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstantin Pančur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The wind increased when Istok Šabotić made the kick off in the second half. 65 minutes into the match, HIT Gorica's goalkeeper Konstantin Pančur had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niki Bundev. HIT Gorica made a substitution. Richard Koštomaj replaced Wlodzimierz Wlodyga. When Zlatko Goričan came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the HIT Gorica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zlatko Goričan couldn't finish the play. Delmiro Lizbeth hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the HIT Gorica defense, Niki Bundev kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Konstantin Pančur. The HIT Gorica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Konstantin Pančur should have stopped the shot. Yassine Bounou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zlatko Goričan in the 84th minute of play.
