After a rather tough play, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Abel Ferreira got a free kick in the 21st minute. Konstantin Pančur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Armando Orange in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Diego Armando Orange ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Konstantin Pančur was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Zlatko Goričan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When HIT Gorica's Duško Turnšek in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Chiquinho Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Istok Šabotić, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After some careless play in the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ defense, Istok Šabotić kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chiquinho Guerra. The Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chiquinho Guerra should have stopped the shot. HIT Gorica's Brite McCready was substituted for Venancio Abalos. Konstantin Pančur acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 75th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Duarte Luz. A collision led to Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Zé Roberto Velasco hit a great ball. In the 81st minute Zlatko Goričan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ booed when HIT Gorica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jernej Petrovič didn't get a good kick on the ball.
