Oldham Athletic were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after FC LongeR's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Valentin Jonsson took the corner. A collision led to Oldham Athletic getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Jimmy Linquist hit a great ball. In the 17thth minute of the game Robert Robak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oldham Athletic's Mattias Pihlgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Robert Robak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mattias Pihlgren was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. If Napoleon Borkowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Waldemar Zjawin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Pettersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Napoleon Borkowski in the 26th minute of play forced Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Mattias Pihlgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute FC LongeR were awarded a corner. Wit Gaszynski went to the cornerflag to take it. After 32 played minutes Oldham Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Sten Bolander. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Napoleon Borkowski to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Adrian Pettersson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waldemar Zjawin. FC LongeR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrian Pettersson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Napoleon Borkowski in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mattias Pihlgren saved Oldham Athletic from getting behind. In the 58th minute, Jaroslaw Raszek had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jimmy Linquist during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. FC LongeR's Radowit Cichowski was substituted for Jaroslaw Raszek. After 60 played minutes Oldham Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Jimmy Linquist. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jimmy Linquist in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldemar Zjawin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th minute, Napoleon Borkowski fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Mattias Pihlgren, passed just outside the right post. Oldham Athletic's Sten Bolander got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 81 in the game by Robert Robak from a close distance when the talented Mattias Pihlgren managed to make a qualified save. Oldham Athletic's players were relieved. Waldemar Zjawin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Jonsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 91st minute, Czeslaw Czeszyk had to leave the field with a concussion. After 91 minutes, Björn Svanström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oldham Athletic and the FC LongeR players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC LongeR booed when Oldham Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björn Svanström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bror Hegg was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 94 minutes into the match. Oldham Athletic's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
