An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilmar Mendes in the 2nd minute of play forced Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Mattias Pihlgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valentin Jonsson kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Valentin Jonsson fired away a sharp free kick straight at the goal. It looked like it might be really tough for the goalie to handle, but the shot went into the stands to the left of Gerson Viana. If Nilmar Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Aesir FC FSCMZ's Gerson Viana got control of the ball when Sten Bolander tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gerson Viana was a little too slow when Adrian Pettersson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Valentin Jonsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerson Viana. Aesir FC FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valentin Jonsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 26 minutes into the match, Valentin Jonsson notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Aesir FC FSCMZ's Gerson Viana. Gerson Viana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sten Bolander hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, one of Aesir FC FSCMZ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Aesir FC FSCMZ. 42 minutes into the match, Oldham Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when André Luiz Cabral came free, but Mattias Pihlgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Oldham Athletic getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Leif Vedholm hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Frédson da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aesir FC FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Frédson da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattias Pihlgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

In the 55th play minute Jefferson Rodrigues came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Mattias Pihlgren. 4-1. In the 62nd minute Jefferson Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Pihlgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mattias Pihlgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Luiz Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jefferson Rodrigues received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mattias Pihlgren came out and tried to block the shot, but Jefferson Rodrigues slotted it home off the left post making it 4-2 in the 66th minute. A collision led to Oldham Athletic getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Jan Gulliksson hit a great ball. Mattias Pihlgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Luiz Cabral's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Rodrigues in the 77th minute of play forced Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Mattias Pihlgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuno Moraes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Mattias Pihlgren made a huge save. Mattias Pihlgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldir Alcântara in the 90th minute of the match. Oldham Athletic's Mattias Pihlgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Oldham Athletic from getting a goal against them. The Oldham Athletic support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
