Ioan Papadima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Leme in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Dumitru Bogătean nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geraldo Urbano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 29 minutes into the game, when Bernardinho Duarte put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Xapetuba Futebol Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgil Agudaru in the 33rd minute of play forced Xapetuba Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Geraldo Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basílio Mazza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ioan Papadima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marius Onișoru hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Ioan Papadima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Mazza in the 38th minute of play. Geraldo Urbano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dumitru Bogătean in the 45th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dumitru Bogătean in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geraldo Urbano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 47 minutes into the match, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Stănoiu came free, but Geraldo Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dumitru Bogătean to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Clemente Leme could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Ioan Papadima however easily saved by the left post. Geraldo Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dumitru Bogătean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clemente Leme hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Geraldo Urbano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paul Stănoiu went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 62 played minutes GoooooooooooooooooooooooL got a freekick which was hit by Cristinel Povară. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clemente Leme got free with Ioan Papadima in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Clemente Leme took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ioan Papadima. Ioan Papadima dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Geraldo Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgil Agudaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Xapetuba Futebol Clube's zone, Dumitru Bogătean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geraldo Urbano came out of the goal and Dumitru Bogătean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 85th minute, Virgil Agudaru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Geraldo Urbano was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Geraldo Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Stănoiu in the 89th minute of play. The GoooooooooooooooooooooooL support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
