The audience thought a goal was coming when Lino Madeo got free with Juarês de Amaral in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcus Simões scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lino Esquipula, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 18 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Gualter Romero. Juarês de Amaral acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 19th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Erasmo Sayveon. In the 22nd match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Cosme Umea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafael Abreu during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 26 minutes into the game, one of Marquês de Herval:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Juarês de Amaral had in the 28thth minute some difficulties stopping Erasmo Sayveon's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Erasmo Sayveon scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juarês de Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mario Rodriguez hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Bastos in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lino Esquipula prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lino Madeo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Juarês de Amaral when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lino Madeo to strike the kick off in the second half. Juarês de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Calvino in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rd match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseu Braga to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the game, Reginaldo Furlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marquês de Herval's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reconquistense FC the free kick. The supporters of Reconquistense FC booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reginaldo Furlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santiago Calvino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Juarês de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Silvestre Joanes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Reginaldo Furlan from long distance, 60 minutes into the match, got Lino Esquipula's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Giovani Fernandes fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Isaac Asur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reconquistense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isaac Asur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juarês de Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
