Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovânio Quirino in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juarês de Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 12th minute, Bruno Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raimundo Reis might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juarês de Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raimundo Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. 15 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto Azevedo came free, but Juarês de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Noroeste Paulista's Cláudio Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Noroeste Paulista from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute, Geovânio Quirino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Noroeste Paulista fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Bruno Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio Quirino in the 30th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Juarês de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovânio Quirino during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 42 played minutes Noroeste Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Geovânio Quirino. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geovânio Quirino to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Raimundo Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juarês de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juarês de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Reis in the 58th minute of play. Raimundo Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geovânio Quirino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Juarês de Amaral made a huge save. João Augusto Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Juarês de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Vitório Paranaense could shoot a difficult shot in the 69th minute, which Juarês de Amaral however easily saved by the left post. Juarês de Amaral made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Betão Pinheiro sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Giovani Fernandes hit a great ball. Robinho Gerber charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robinho Gerber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Robinho Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Juarês de Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Franklin Vander in the 94th minute. Franklin Vander had several of the Marquês de Herval's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 95 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Juarês de Amaral as he didn't even see the shot coming.
