After a defensive mix-up in Frenchville Sports Club's zone, Gav Smith stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eddie Sparrow came out of the goal and Gav Smith tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes into the match, Frenchville Sports Club's goal looked a bit too open when Liberto Merino came free, but Eddie Sparrow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Gav Smith got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 17 minutes, Ahmet Gökalp Taçkın mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Spartak de Txurdi and the Frenchville Sports Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eddie Sparrow had great luck who in the 31stth minute grab hold of the ball when Liberto Merino from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Aaron Marcola charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Marcola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Liberto Merino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
