Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Eduardo Mascareñas got the match started through his kick off. When Urbano Pacio came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Liga de Quito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Urbano Pacio couldn't finish the play. Jan-Ove Vesterberg acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 5th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mateo Cancel. Jan-Ove Vesterberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Mascareñas, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Jairo Collador showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens Vik in the 16th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eduardo Mascareñas in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan-Ove Vesterberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. IFK Stockholm's Jan-Ove Vesterberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Ibaute in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, IFK Stockholm's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Ibaute came free, but Jan-Ove Vesterberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Velasco Ilarraza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liga de Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Velasco Ilarraza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jan-Ove Vesterberg made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Eduardo Mascareñas sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st minute Liga de Quito were awarded a corner. Mateo Cancel went to the cornerflag to take it. Liga de Quito's Eduardo Mascareñas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jan-Ove Vesterberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Kvarnström in the 34th minute of play forced Liga de Quito's goalkeeper Jairo Collador to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eduardo Mascareñas took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jan-Ove Vesterberg. Jan-Ove Vesterberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. A collision led to IFK Stockholm getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Anton Kvarnström hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Nestor Ibaute got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Egil Bagge was the one to do the kick off. When Velasco Ilarraza fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liga de Quito's protests and gave Velasco Ilarraza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Egil Bagge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the IFK Stockholm defense, Eduardo Mascareñas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan-Ove Vesterberg. The IFK Stockholm fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan-Ove Vesterberg should have stopped the shot. IFK Stockholm's Jan-Ove Vesterberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Mascareñas in the 73rd minute of play. Batu Artuç kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Mateo Cancel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jairo Collador made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Kvarnström in the 84th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, IFK Stockholm's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Mascareñas came free, but Jan-Ove Vesterberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Checa Cerezo notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of IFK Stockholm's Jan-Ove Vesterberg. Jan-Ove Vesterberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Liga de Quito had won after a very even match.
