After a rather tough play, Waitakere F.C.'s Niceto Bizen got a free kick in the 9th minute. Sergio Nazario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tarcísio Palha, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Waitakere F.C.'s Sergio Nazario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Vale in the 13th minute of play. Filinto Coelho's late challenge caught a Waitakere F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filinto Coelho helped the player get up and apologised. 20 minutes into the match, Garanhão do SUL's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Pueblo came free, but Joel Maciel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waitakere F.C. were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Garanhão do SUL's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Silvano Martxel took the corner. After taking down the ball on Waitakere F.C.'s corner Silvano Martxel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joel Maciel quite easily take care of the ball. Sergio Nazario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Vale in the 25th minute of the match. Sergio Nazario came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Garanhão do SUL's Damian Prokowski. But to his dismay, Damian Prokowski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 31 minutes into the game, Nicanor Pueblo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Joel Maciel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Garanhão do SUL's Joel Maciel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Pueblo in the 34th minute of play. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Waitakere F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tarcísio Palha was slow to take the kick. During this time Garanhão do SUL's players had a chance to rest. Niceto Bizen tried in the 40th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Sergio Nazario a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 2-2. After 44 minutes, Julião Valverde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garanhão do SUL and the Waitakere F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Julião Valverde kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Niceto Maraman during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Waitakere F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Maraman to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexandre Vale made a kick off. Joel Maciel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicanor Pueblo in the 63rd minute of play. After having played for 67 minutes, Nicanor Pueblo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Waitakere F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicanor Pueblo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Waitakere F.C.'s Mateo Marin was substituted for Rodolfo Cebrian. Nicanor Pueblo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Joel Maciel made a huge save. The supporters of Waitakere F.C. booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filinto Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 77 minutes into the game, Silvano Martxel lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Joel Maciel. 82 minutes into the match, Waitakere F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Elias Garikoitz came free, but Sergio Nazario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Waitakere F.C.'s Silvano Martxel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joel Maciel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Joel Maciel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mateo Marin in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Waitakere F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
