Uwe Ziege was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maurizio Brink could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Alberigo Biavati made a huge save. In the 31st minute of the match, Florian Hagen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alberigo Biavati saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The crowd rose to their feet as Rot-Weiss-Essen's Sascha Andre Rennert slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alberigo Biavati. That made the score 3-1 after 39 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elmar Assing in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alberigo Biavati saved Maci FC from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sascha Andre Rennert got free with Alberigo Biavati in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudio Nicolai to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Bianco Fiorentino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Uwe Ziege, 3-2. Alberigo Biavati showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hannes Kapell, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Maci FC's Alberigo Biavati played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sascha Andre Rennert in the 70th minute of play. Alberigo Biavati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Björn Mokros in the 71st minute of the match. 72 minutes into the game, Sascha Andre Rennert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rot-Weiss-Essen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maci FC the free kick. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Sascha Andre Rennert hit a great ball. In the 79th minute Maurizio Brink shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberigo Biavati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute Ivo Claus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberigo Biavati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivo Claus scored 5-2 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberigo Biavati, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Maci FC's Alberigo Biavati played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo Claus in the 95th minute of play. After 96 minutes of play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Björn Mokros made it 6-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alberigo Biavati was left in no man's land by his defense there!
