Carlos Augusto Recife showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentín Bello, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. When Ornitorrincos F.C.'s Valentín Bello, in the 4th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ornitorrincos F.C.. Amadeo Tuste received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. César Bertrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Augusto Recife made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Cipriano Ancavil sent off a good shot on target. Ornitorrincos F.C. were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Palmeiras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Angelillo Fuente took the corner. Michel Sergipano hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Dagoberto Moura got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Carlos Augusto Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelillo Fuente in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 minutes Palmeiras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Angelillo Fuente who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Angelillo Fuente got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carlos Augusto Recife quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when Ornitorrincos F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Carlos Zapata didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Cristofer Azúa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 34 played minutes, Palmeiras's Perivaldo Furlan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper César Bertrand came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palmeiras reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dagoberto Moura during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. César Bertrand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caio Boldrini in the 39th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Palmeiras's Caio Boldrini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. César Bertrand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentín Bello to make the kick off. César Bertrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeo Tuste in the 54th minute of play. Carlos Augusto Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentín Bello in the 61st minute of play. Cipriano Ancavil took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Augusto Recife. Carlos Augusto Recife dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Palmeiras's Toninho Prestes was substituted for Dagoberto Moura. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentín Bello in the 74th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 75 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Furlan. Palmeiras's Ernesto Quin was substituted for Tião Tróia. Perivaldo Furlan hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Valentín Bello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Recife having to interfere. Carlos Augusto Recife didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valentín Bello went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Ornitorrincos F.C.'s César Bertrand proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Ornitorrincos F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 91st minute, Ernesto Quin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ornitorrincos F.C.'s supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
