The referee ignored Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's protests and gave Donato Granja a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Imperio Catatumbo de Lara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Granja didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute of the match Clóvis Paraense sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marta Poom skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Mathias dos Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marta Poom was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. When Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Juan Fraco in 77 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Wincent Jaworski guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in.
