Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hélder Trindade started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costin Iorgu in the 5th minute of play forced SC Braga's goalkeeper Albérico Vilaverde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Braga's zone, Costin Iorgu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albérico Vilaverde came out of the goal and Costin Iorgu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, SC Braga's Hélio Cerqueira got a free kick in the 8th minute. Octavian Bogdănescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Trindade, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Nichifor Vergulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albérico Vilaverde having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Costin Iorgu in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albérico Vilaverde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Costin Iorgu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albérico Vilaverde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustin Nechifor in the 38th minute of the match. The supporters of FC Steaua Pildesti booed when SC Braga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandrino Bessa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th match minute, SC Braga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egídio Paixão to maneuver through the defense. SC Braga's Albérico Vilaverde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichifor Vergulescu in the 44th minute of play. Traian Roşu charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Traian Roşu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Braga booed when FC Steaua Pildesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Traian Roşu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The SC Braga players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Steaua Pildesti were winning 0-2.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Augustin Nechifor to strike the kick off in the second half. SC Braga's Albérico Vilaverde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augustin Nechifor in the 51st minute of play. Albérico Vilaverde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costin Iorgu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 53 minutes, Nichifor Vergulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Steaua Pildesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nichifor Vergulescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the last second Albérico Vilaverde throw himself and got hold of the ball when Traian Roşu in the 55thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Nichifor Vergulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Albérico Vilaverde made a huge save. 58 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goal looked a bit too open when Costin Iorgu came free, but Albérico Vilaverde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honorato Calado charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Honorato Calado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Augustin Nechifor came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the FC Steaua Pildesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augustin Nechifor couldn't finish the play. SC Braga's Albérico Vilaverde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costin Iorgu in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, FC Steaua Pildesti's Valer Cobâlcescu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Valer Cobâlcescu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Steaua Pildesti protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Valer Cobâlcescu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When FC Steaua Pildesti's Costin Iorgu in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Braga's goalie prevented a goal. Costin Iorgu took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albérico Vilaverde. Albérico Vilaverde dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Albérico Vilaverde made an important save on a dangerous shot by Costin Iorgu in the 89th minute. Nichifor Vergulescu hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Hélder Trindade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Steaua Pildesti's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
