After 14 played minutes Wertian S Salvinorins got a freekick which was hit by Radowit Ostrowski. In the 15th minute, Travis Oakley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Enrique Malone had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cheb Yacef. Wertian S Salvinorins's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enrique Malone was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 24th match minute, Wertian S Salvinorins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wieslaw Barciniak to maneuver through the defense. The Vancouver Reds fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Vancouver Reds's Frances Grossman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 29th minute, Frances Grossman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Pedro Luís Saldanha fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wertian S Salvinorins's protests and gave Pedro Luís Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 played minutes, Vancouver Reds's Travis Oakley shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cheb Yacef came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Timothy Harrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Cheb Yacef tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frances Grossman to make the kick off.
