An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennart Svanström in the 9th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Lúcio Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jesus Arce in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Domingues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lennart Svanström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Lúcio Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luisão Matorin's late challenge caught a Garphyttan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luisão Matorin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Luisão Matorin hit a great ball. Garphyttan's Jörgen Gummeson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamim Negri in the 26th minute of play. In the 33rd minute Jesus Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deivid Queirós's late challenge caught a Garphyttan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Deivid Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Garphyttan booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Blom recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jesus Arce made a kick off. Garphyttan's Jörgen Gummeson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Garphyttan from getting a goal against them. Lúcio Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennart Svanström, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Zebastian Lindholm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Dudu Queiroz got a free kick in the 81st minute. Lúcio Domingues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lars-Erik Lundkvist's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goal looked a bit too open when Zebastian Lindholm came free, but Lúcio Domingues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Garphyttan's Jörgen Gummeson got control of the ball when Benjamim Negri tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Garphyttan fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nova Iguaçu MZFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
