Marc Richter started the match with the kick off. In the 6thth minute of the game Juan Sorin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SV Bad Harzburg's Tim Wiese was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 10th match minute, SV Bad Harzburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eckard Döngelli to maneuver through the defense. Tim Wiese stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Sorin's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. SV Bad Harzburg's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Emanuel Schrappe in the 25th minute. The corner ended in Emanuel Schrappe almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Vitor José did a great save. The supporters of SV Bad Harzburg booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Túlio Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vitor José acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 31st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Emanuel Schrappe. With 33 minutes on the clock, John Rambo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SV Bad Harzburg! Emanuel Schrappe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Vitor José tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc Richter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Vitor José made a huge save. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Vitor José proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save S.E.R. Caxias do Sul from getting a goal against them. Iuri Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juan Sorin made a kick off. Vitor José took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Halldor Sönksen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitor José showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Halldor Sönksen, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 57th minute, Halldor Sönksen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vitor José was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a rather tough play, SV Bad Harzburg's Larry von Stetten got a free kick in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marc Richter in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitor José prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tim Wiese made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Ladislao Mazurkiewicz sent off a good shot on target. Iuri Paranaense kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 77th match minute, SV Bad Harzburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Larry von Stetten to maneuver through the defense. After 84 played minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Flávio Fonseca. A nice corner shot did that Marc Richter got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vitor José quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marc Richter in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitor José prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Halldor Sönksen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SV Bad Harzburg had won after a very even match.
