The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Vitor José got control of the ball when Daniel Dziura tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Dziura in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitor José prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Toni Bastos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vitor José having to make a save. Daniel Dziura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Dziura did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Vitor José 19 minutes into the match. Daniel Dziura scored 2-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vitor José, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th match minute, Set Fire was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pompílio Dikaté to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Sorin in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delmiro Rosalio saved Set Fire from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Sorin in the 32nd minute of play forced Set Fire's goalkeeper Delmiro Rosalio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Dziura got free with Vitor José in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute, Daniel Dziura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute, João Carlos Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Daniel Dziura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's protests and gave João Carlos Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. João Carlos Gaspar hit a great ball. In the 61st minute of the match Rogério Pedrosa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vitor José skillfully saved the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Set Fire were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of S.E.R.
