The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Geronimo Bernaldo hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The long shot by Amos Giusto in the 7th minute really tested Cayetano Fanuco's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Angelo Gizzi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fermin Deunoro went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 30 minutes into the match, Pegaso's goalkeeper Cayetano Fanuco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gianluca Scamacca. After 33 minutes Pegaso's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Amos Giusto who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Amos Giusto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cayetano Fanuco quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gianluca Scamacca came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cayetano Fanuco could save by the left post. The supporters of Sporting Club Sicilia booed when Pegaso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarbas Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amos Giusto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cayetano Fanuco. Pegaso's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cayetano Fanuco made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Gianluca Scamacca sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 42 minutes, Fermin Deunoro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pegaso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fermin Deunoro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the game, Wilber McDonald cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Angelo Gizzi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Pegaso were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Enzo De Vecchis made a kick off. After 53 minutes, Amos Giusto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Club Sicilia and the Pegaso players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jarbas Dantas during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 63 played minutes Pegaso got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Dantas. Alfredo Piboon charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredo Piboon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo De Vecchis in the 69th minute of play forced Pegaso's goalkeeper Cayetano Fanuco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Pegaso fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cayetano Fanuco should have stopped the shot. Pegaso were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Sporting Club Sicilia's much stronger midfield.
