Edgard Cabral started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Czeslaw Okropny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sébastien Marionneau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Posejdon Gdynia's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Cabral came free, but Sébastien Marionneau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sébastien Marionneau was a little too slow when Edgard Cabral got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. Sébastien Marionneau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgard Cabral in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute Edgard Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sébastien Marionneau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osmar de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Goiás Esporte Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kacper Zbydniowski was slow to take the kick. During this time Posejdon Gdynia's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Posejdon Gdynia booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarbas Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Edgard Cabral took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Sébastien Marionneau to make any attempt to save it. In the 43rd minute, Osmar de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kacper Zbydniowski to strike the kick off in the second half. Benigno Ixona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sébastien Marionneau having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgard Cabral in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sébastien Marionneau prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kacper Zbydniowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Czeslaw Okropny in the 60th minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes, Kacper Zbydniowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Posejdon Gdynia and the Goiás Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Kacper Zbydniowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Posejdon Gdynia's goalkeeper Sébastien Marionneau, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, Edgard Cabral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sébastien Marionneau. Posejdon Gdynia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgard Cabral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 88th minute Edgard Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sébastien Marionneau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sébastien Marionneau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sébastien Marionneau had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Edgard Cabral's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Goiás Esporte Clube had won after a very even match.
