Halfdan Hornegaard hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Strib Galacticos IF's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Moek came free, but Johannes Stenberdt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Christijan Oss came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Decathlon Dudes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christijan Oss couldn't finish the play. When Teis Bager fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strib Galacticos IF's protests and gave Teis Bager a yellow card for diving instead. Teis Bager hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute of the match Mads Pedersen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johannes Stenberdt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roelof Zeevenhoven in the 15th minute of play forced Strib Galacticos IF's goalkeeper Johannes Stenberdt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Teis Bager hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute Roelof Zeevenhoven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johannes Stenberdt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johannes Stenberdt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roelof Zeevenhoven went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Thorstein Loller who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Dirk-Jan van Bronckhorst when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 24th minute, Carlo Moek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 29 played minutes Strib Galacticos IF got a freekick which was hit by Teis Bager. Strib Galacticos IF's Johannes Stenberdt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roelof Zeevenhoven in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Decathlon Dudes's goal looked a bit too open when Bobbi Mejnholt came free, but Dirk-Jan van Bronckhorst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Strib Galacticos IF's Halfdan Hornegaard was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 34th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Johannes Stenberdt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roelof Zeevenhoven in the 37th minute of play.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christijan Oss was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Decathlon Dudes's Harris Wijkstra got a free kick in the 51st minute. After 53 minutes, Mads Pedersen made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Strib Galacticos IF's Johannes Stenberdt tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 58th minute, Carlo Moek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johannes Stenberdt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasper Philipsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bobbi Mejnholt during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Strib Galacticos IF's Bobbi Mejnholt got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After 64 played minutes, Decathlon Dudes's Bill Beukenkamp shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Johannes Stenberdt came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Decathlon Dudes reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christijan Oss got free with Johannes Stenberdt in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 71 minutes, Reinhard Duse mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Strib Galacticos IF and the Decathlon Dudes players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Decathlon Dudes booed when Strib Galacticos IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reinhard Duse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Strib Galacticos IF's Johannes Stenberdt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Strib Galacticos IF from getting a goal against them. In the 77th match minute, Decathlon Dudes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roelof Zeevenhoven to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roelof Zeevenhoven in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johannes Stenberdt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Decathlon Dudes were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Strib Galacticos IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mads Pedersen took the corner. The corner led Decathlon Dudes's Christijan Oss to fire away a dangerous shot which Johannes Stenberdt despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 86th minute, Thorstein Loller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Mads Pedersen in the 86th minute really tested Johannes Stenberdt's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Strib Galacticos IF's Nikolai Ruthand got a free kick in the 89th minute. Strib Galacticos IF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Christijan Oss scored to the left of an out of position Johannes Stenberdt, making the score, 1-3. The Decathlon Dudes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Decathlon Dudes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
