Danilo Villafane scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mario Cuenca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 8 minutes into the game, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Danilo Villafane nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mario Cuenca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Nahuel Bustos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Zuriko Lagala made a huge save. When Danilo Villafane came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Inter de Guayaquil FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danilo Villafane couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute Vera Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Cuenca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, TALLERES's Zuriko Lagala threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Guaberto Fertus, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 26 minutes into the match, TALLERES's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Villafane came free, but Mario Cuenca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of TALLERES booed when Inter de Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xurde Argoños didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in TALLERES's zone, Danilo Villafane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Cuenca came out of the goal and Danilo Villafane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Zuriko Lagala successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 33 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Zuriko Lagala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nahuel Bustos. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Danilo Villafane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Danilo Villafane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mario Cuenca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute Danilo Villafane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Cuenca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mario Cuenca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Villafane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alarcón Mallavia kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half Inter de Guayaquil FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nahuel Bustos to strike the kick off in the second half. If Nahuel Bustos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nahuel Bustos fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TALLERES's protests and gave Nahuel Bustos a yellow card for diving instead. Vera Castro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mario Cuenca came out and tried to block the shot, but Vera Castro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 56th minute. 64 minutes into the match, Danilo Villafane notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of TALLERES's Mario Cuenca. Mario Cuenca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vera Castro in the 67th minute of play forced TALLERES's goalkeeper Mario Cuenca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. TALLERES's Mario Cuenca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save TALLERES from getting a goal against them. When Inter de Guayaquil FC's Danilo Villafane in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With his leg Mario Cuenca managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Inter de Guayaquil FC's Danilo Villafane fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The TALLERES supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Inter de Guayaquil FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Inter de Guayaquil FC.
