TALLERES's Mario Cuenca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Mussoll in the 11th minute of play. When Juan-Carlos Alamon fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter de Guayaquil FC's protests and gave Juan-Carlos Alamon a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of TALLERES booed when Inter de Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan-Carlos Alamon didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nahuel Bustos in the 19th minute of play forced Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Zuriko Lagala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guaberto Fertus during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to TALLERES getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Guaberto Fertus hit a great ball. Mario Cuenca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mellington Chirivoga in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Nicanor Osorio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Franco Mussolls short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Mario Cuenca to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 35th minute, Mellington Henao got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mellington Chirivoga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. TALLERES's Mario Cuenca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save TALLERES from getting a goal against them. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Juan-Carlos Alamon quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alonzo Daunte, made in the 45th minute of the game. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mellington Chirivoga to make the kick off. The supporters of Inter de Guayaquil FC booed when TALLERES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Leobardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Franco Mussoll had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Cuenca. TALLERES's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Franco Mussoll was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Macias Ribadas hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Mario Cuenca came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Franco Mussoll. But to his dismay, Franco Mussoll quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Franco Mussoll managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Franco Mussoll was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mario Cuenca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, TALLERES's goal looked a bit too open when Franco Mussoll came free, but Mario Cuenca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute, Franco Mussoll ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mario Cuenca was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After having played for 84 minutes, Franco Mussoll managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franco Mussoll was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mario Cuenca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mellington Chirivoga in the 85th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Nahuel Bustos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuriko Lagala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 played minutes TALLERES got a freekick which was hit by Nahuel Bustos. After a rather tough play, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Franco Mussoll got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Inter de Guayaquil FC had won after a very even match.
