The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Zeledon Rubio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mateus Peralta, 1-0. In the 8th minute Loco Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateus Peralta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Characate FC's Mateus Peralta threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Loco Palermo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcos Mederi got free with Mateus Peralta in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bacardi Black Bats's Mateus Peralta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Mederi in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Bacardi Black Bats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolau Vilarinho to maneuver through the defense. Mateus Peralta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michael Ballack in the 20th minute. After some careless play in the Bacardi Black Bats defense, Primitivo Brun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mateus Peralta. The Bacardi Black Bats fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mateus Peralta should have stopped the shot. In the 28th minute, Characate FC's Michael Ballack ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mateus Peralta. Mateus Peralta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Zeledon Rubio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateus Peralta having to interfere. After having played for 36 minutes, Reginaldo Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bacardi Black Bats's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reginaldo Luz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mateus Peralta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loco Palermo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Loco Palermo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mateus Peralta. That made the score 5-0 in the 40 minute of play. A collision led to Bacardi Black Bats getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Albérico Roriz hit a great ball. Mateus Peralta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Rubio, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Mateus Peralta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Mederi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcos Mederi made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ernesto Txanton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. John Valeny made in the 57th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Zeledon Rubio however managed to control. After a rather tough play, Bacardi Black Bats's Reginaldo Luz got a free kick in the 66th minute. 74 minutes into the game, John Valeny was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Characate FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bacardi Black Bats the free kick. After a rather tough play, Characate FC's John Valeny got a free kick in the 74th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Characate FC's goalkeeper Benjamin Price had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reginaldo Luz. Mateus Peralta came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Characate FC's Marcos Mederi. But to his dismay, Marcos Mederi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. In the 87th minute, Guido Caradaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Marcos Mederi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mateus Peralta. Bacardi Black Bats's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcos Mederi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. Benjamin Price showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginaldo Luz in the 94th minute of the match. Characate FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
