With an all-out effort, Characate FC's Osasun Abastas threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcos Mederi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 6th minute Marcos Mederi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osasun Abastas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 7 minutes on the clock, Rigoberto Ur commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 8th match minute, Characate FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Ur to maneuver through the defense. Benjamin Price took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Bezanilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Aioros FC booed when Characate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Loco Palermo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zeledon Rubio hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Aioros FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Loco Palermo scored to the left of an out of position Osasun Abastas, making the score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Aioros FC's zone, Loco Palermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osasun Abastas came out of the goal and Loco Palermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tombolo Wa Kadima D'AoustDaoust took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benjamin Price. Benjamin Price dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Benjamin Price came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Aioros FC's Tombolo Wa Kadima D'AoustDaoust. But to his dismay, Tombolo Wa Kadima D'AoustDaoust quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Loco Palermo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Characate FC's Loco Palermo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osasun Abastas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Osasun Abastas came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Characate FC's Michael Ballack. Michael Ballack's late challenge caught a Aioros FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 67th minute, Loco Palermo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Characate FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Loco Palermo hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. When Loco Palermo came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Characate FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Loco Palermo couldn't finish the play.
