In the 18th match minute, Elegance Dijon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adil Caruso to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yann Guillemin got free with Jörgen Olofsson in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Elegance Dijon's Mathieu Gaud slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jörgen Olofsson. That made the score 3-1 after 30 minutes of play. When Mathieu Gaud came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Elegance Dijon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathieu Gaud couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute, Adil Caruso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd match minute, Wargön was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Mager to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
