In the 39th minute of the match, Elói Barreto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Olando Marty saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Arsenal de Gols F.C getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Elói Barreto hit a great ball. Elói Barretos short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Olando Marty to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Blas Bolaños to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Juan-Carlos Otero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arsenal de Gols F.C the free kick. The audience was convinced that Waldir Matorin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olando Marty was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Sílvio Ribeiro's late challenge caught a Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
