Claudio Senio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bogumil Czubski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the game, Villa Mitre City's Melquiades Venceslas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Justo Estefan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. A collision led to Villa Mitre City getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Franz Corral hit a great ball. Jan-Erik Lönn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Senio having to interfere. When Formentera's Jan-Erik Lönn in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jan-Erik Lönn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 35th play minutes Jan-Erik Lönn shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Claudio Senio and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper Claudio Senio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Jan-Erik Lönn notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Villa Mitre City's Claudio Senio. Claudio Senio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jan-Erik Lönn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Jan-Erik Lönn might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudio Senio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan-Erik Lönn ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan-Erik Lönn got free with Claudio Senio in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jan-Erik Lönn did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Claudio Senio 54 minutes into the match. Joaquin Vela took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Claudio Senio. Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 61st minute Hugo Medardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Estefan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Formentera's Osvaldo Sugar got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 66 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper Claudio Senio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan-Erik Lönn. In the 67th minute, Jan-Erik Lönn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 69 minutes, Jan-Erik Lönn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formentera and the Villa Mitre City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Formentera's Jan-Erik Lönn got a free kick in the 69th minute. After 71 minutes, Jan-Erik Lönn made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Villa Mitre City's Claudio Senio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jan-Erik Lönn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Formentera's supporters rose to their feet, but Bogumil Czubski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudio Senio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudio Senio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan-Erik Lönn's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Formentera walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
