Pedro Benítez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benjamin Gimeno kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tsubasa Ozora in the 16th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Aldo Candal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, VILLARREAL UNITED's goalkeeper Pedro Benítez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diederiek Daems. The crowd rose to their feet as Brugge United's Ryan Lanphant slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Benítez. That made the score 3-0 after 25 minutes of play. Isidoro Mangas's late challenge caught a Brugge United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a rather tough play, VILLARREAL UNITED's Isidoro Mangas got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 44th minute Brugge United were awarded a corner. Binjamin Denturck went to the cornerflag to take it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Berto Torrente during the 45th minute. In the 62nd minute, Mark Wauters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Brugge United getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Mark Wauters hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thommy Pelgrims in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Benítez saved VILLARREAL UNITED from getting behind. A nice corner shot did that Ismael Jimenez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aldo Candal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diederiek Daems in the 77th minute of play forced VILLARREAL UNITED's goalkeeper Pedro Benítez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tristan Zapater could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Aldo Candal made a huge save. After having played for 95 minutes, Steff Caers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brugge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steff Caers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eusebio Cao charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eusebio Cao the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
