The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allan Loss helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Dundee's Allan Loss got a free kick in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Itajaí Football Club's Manuel Pinho broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 7 minutes, Amílton dos Santos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itajaí Football Club and the FC Dundee players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Amílton dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute of the match Allan Loss sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christiano Cearense skillfully saved the ball. 10 minutes into the match, FC Dundee's goal looked a bit too open when Jailson de Senna came free, but Peeter Bonetti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hristo Botev in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Christiano Cearense, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. FC Dundee's Peeter Bonetti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson de Senna in the 20th minute of play. When Jailson de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Itajaí Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jailson de Senna couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Jailson de Senna made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Jailson de Senna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Peeter Bonetti. FC Dundee's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jailson de Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With his leg Peeter Bonetti managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Itajaí Football Club's Jailson de Senna fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 58th play minute Jailson de Senna came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Peeter Bonetti. 0-2. Hristo Botev hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Jailson de Senna's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Peeter Bonetti skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Luís Fabiano Corrêa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Peeter Bonetti made a huge save. Sten Aruväli charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sten Aruväli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Dundee getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Sten Aruväli hit a great ball. In the 70th minute Jailson de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peeter Bonetti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 minutes of play, FC Dundee's Hristo Botev made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christiano Cearense was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 74thth minute of the game Hristo Botev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itajaí Football Club's Christiano Cearense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Peeter Bonetti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson de Senna in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to FC Dundee getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Markus Lausmäe hit a great ball. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Dundee! A hard shot 86 in the game by Jailson de Senna from a close distance when the talented Peeter Bonetti managed to make a qualified save. FC Dundee's players were relieved. After 88 played minutes FC Dundee got a freekick which was hit by Villu Lesta. Jailson de Senna came free with the goalkeeper in the 98th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Peeter Bonetti could save by the left post. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Itajaí Football Club walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
