After 23 minutes, Tomás Checa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Pucho and the Itajaí Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee showed Jailson de Senna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Deportivo Pucho booed when Itajaí Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jailson de Senna in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgardo Botello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 64 minutes, Jailson de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itajaí Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jailson de Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66thth minute of the game Jailson de Senna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Pucho's Edgardo Botello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Itajaí Football Club getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Corrêa hit a great ball. Desiderio Ermengol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Christiano Cearense made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jailson de Senna in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgardo Botello saved Deportivo Pucho from getting behind. Deportivo Pucho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amílton dos Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. In the 83rd minute, Jailson de Senna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itajaí Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jailson de Senna in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgardo Botello saved Deportivo Pucho from getting behind. After 89 minutes, Luís Fabiano Corrêa made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. Deportivo Pucho's Edgardo Botello tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Itajaí Football Club walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
