The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Rabah Messaoudi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 4th match minute, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alarico Borrás to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO booed when Salmiyah Power was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samir Abdenouz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fathi Abbas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cugat Marines in the 8th minute of play. Xabel Beloki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fadhil Meniri in the 11th minute. Ruperto Mendez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cugat Marines in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fathi Abbas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fadhil Meniri hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Salmiyah Power's Fadhil Meniri was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 21st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 25th minute, Khalida Zouba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fathi Abbas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cugat Marines went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fadhil Meniri got free with Xabel Beloki in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Salmiyah Power booed when ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ni Zhou Hong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fathi Abbas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ni Zhou Hong, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cugat Marines in the 36th minute of play forced Salmiyah Power's goalkeeper Fathi Abbas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Ruperto Mendez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fathi Abbas. Salmiyah Power's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruperto Mendez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruperto Mendez in the 42nd minute of play forced Salmiyah Power's goalkeeper Fathi Abbas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Salmiyah Power was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Halim Zeghdoud to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute Cugat Marines shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fathi Abbas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xabel Beloki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fadhil Meniri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rabah Messaoudi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Salmiyah Power's goal looked a bit too open when Ruperto Mendez came free, but Fathi Abbas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 54 played minutes Salmiyah Power got a freekick which was hit by Boudjemaa Haddou. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Ruperto Mendez took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Fathi Abbas to make any attempt to save it. In the 61st match minute, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cugat Marines to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fadhil Meniri in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Xabel Beloki saved ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO from getting behind. 71 minutes into the match, Fadhil Meniri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Xabel Beloki. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fadhil Meniri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Fadhil Meniri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Xabel Beloki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Ni Zhou Hong ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fathi Abbas was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. After a defensive mix-up in ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's zone, Fadhil Meniri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xabel Beloki came out of the goal and Fadhil Meniri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute Rabah Messaoudi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xabel Beloki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO defense, Fadhil Meniri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xabel Beloki. The ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xabel Beloki should have stopped the shot.
