In the 9th minute Fadhil Meniri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by William Luz during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Salmiyah Power booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Samir Abdenouz came free, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salmiyah Power's Fathi Abbas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Salmiyah Power from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halim Zeghdoud in the 47th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Boughera Benmabrouk made the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Salmiyah Power's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Boughera Benmabrouk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 74 played minutes Salmiyah Power got a freekick which was hit by Boughera Benmabrouk. Serafim Simão struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Fathi Abbas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra do Interior. Serafim Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 94th minute, Jhon Barcellos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salmiyah Power played a much better game than Palestra do Interior and deserved their victory. The Palestra do Interior players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
