The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alonzo Lon couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute Christiano Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Estevon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christiano Travassos in the 15th minute of play forced Pretorianos FC's goalkeeper Pedro Estevon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pretorianos FC's Pedro Estevon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Pretorianos FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Belmiro Cearense got free with Pedro Estevon in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pretorianos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hector Telmo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Alonzo Lon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Christiano Travassos made the kick off in the second half. Natã Martins struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Pedro Estevon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olivedos. Pedro Estevon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Pretorianos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
