The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fausto Venceslas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Boquenses booed when Alvi Verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magno Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amado Crescencio in the 17th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Victor Pero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fausto Venceslas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony de Carvalho in the 30th minute of play. When Eriberto Hanni fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boquenses's protests and gave Eriberto Hanni a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th match minute, Boquenses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Hanni to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Alvi Verde's Váldson Prado tried to score from far away in the 35th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute of the match, Vladimiro Theodore got a very nice opportunity to score, but Daniel Cearense was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gerardo Dubardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dalmacio Rameriz hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The supporters of Alvi Verde booed when Boquenses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Pero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Váldson Prado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manoel Berger to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Alvi Verde booed when Boquenses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto Hanni didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 51st minute of the match Váldson Prado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fausto Venceslas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Vladimiro Theodore scored 2-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniel Cearense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Tony de Carvalho fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alvi Verde's protests and gave Tony de Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes Alvi Verde got a freekick which was hit by Tony de Carvalho. Daniel Cearense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cleto Ovando hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Alvi Verde's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Váldson Prado in the 77th minute. Nelsinho Soares made a great header on Alvi Verde's corner, it was just that Boquenses's Fausto Venceslas managed to reach the ball for a save. Daniel Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Crescencio in the 79th minute of play. After some careless play in the Alvi Verde defense, Amado Crescencio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Cearense. The Alvi Verde fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Cearense should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Manoel Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alvi Verde's supporters rose to their feet, but Manoel Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Venceslas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Alvi Verde's César Linares got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Alvi Verde's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
