Florin Enoaia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Ferdinand Eftimiu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Samuel Mancio, passed just outside the right post. Viola Invest's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Loco De Remate the free kick. Gelu Covaci's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuel Mancio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Viola Invest's Nicolae Jilăveanu got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ferdinand Eftimiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Viola Invest booed when Loco De Remate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Bibiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Viola Invest's goalkeeper Florin Enoaia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anibal Marquez. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anibal Marquez in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florin Enoaia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marius Bogatu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Viola Invest's zone, Anibal Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florin Enoaia came out of the goal and Anibal Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute Nicolae Jilăveanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Mancio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Loco De Remate players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
