Ionel Fecioru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matheus Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 27 played minutes Eantdit FK got a freekick which was hit by Sever Atanasiu. Ivan Niculescu's late challenge caught a PATO BRANCO FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Niculescu helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gavril Mihai got free with Tiaguinho Pirani in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Otávio de Brito struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Ionel Fecioru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PATO BRANCO FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abelardo Favoretto during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Abelardo Favoretto hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Eantdit FK's Sever Atanasiu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alfredo Viana, made in the 73rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Bratoloveanu in the 75th minute of play forced PATO BRANCO FC's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Abelardo Favoretto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PATO BRANCO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Favoretto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
