Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lourenço Balsemão to make the kick off. Demetrio Amesti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeferino Figueira in the 55th minute of play. André Azenha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Francisco Ross in the 75th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diamantino Ferreira got free with Demetrio Amesti in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
