After 19 minutes, Oséas Luz made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Inter Gala's Faustão Hermes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Vítor Nóbrega in the 24th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Adhemar Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adhemar Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tales Alvarenga in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Adhemar Vergílio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Víktor Passos. José Vítor Nóbrega hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Sandrinho Pinho struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Faustão Hermes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capibaribe Stars. In the 39th minute, Oséas Luz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Faustão Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandrinho Pinho in the 41st minute of play. After 43 played minutes Inter Gala got a freekick which was hit by Víktor Passos. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sandrinho Pinho in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faustão Hermes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Inter Gala players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Capibaribe Stars were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandrinho Pinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Inter Gala's goalkeeper Faustão Hermes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandrinho Pinho. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when Inter Gala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víktor Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute of the match Nico Penha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Faustão Hermes skillfully saved the ball. In the 83rd minute, Oséas Luz made a precise shot to the right of Faustão Hermes. Inter Gala's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Faustão Hermes made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Sandrinho Pinho sent off a good shot on target. Víktor Passos charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Víktor Passos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 89th match minute, Inter Gala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Víktor Passos to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Nico Penha in the 90th minute really tested Faustão Hermes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Adhemar Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vítor Nóbrega in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Sandrinho Pinho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Faustão Hermes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. The Capibaribe Stars supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Capibaribe Stars would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
