Saul Arias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Municipales FC booed when Ladoeiro No RuleZ FC 2010 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cândido Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paja Pajazo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rui Patrício. Ladoeiro No RuleZ FC 2010's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Aquilino Mogel made in the 21st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ladoeiro No RuleZ FC 2010's Germano Travassos. In the 23rd minute Esteve Nicholas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Patrício saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Idalécio Nogueira in the 25th minute of play forced Municipales FC's goalkeeper Saul Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gastão Caeiro scored 1-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saul Arias, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. But to his dismay, Cândido Lopes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florencio Hever got free with Rui Patrício in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rui Patrício took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esteve Nicholas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rui Patrício made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteve Nicholas in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Ladoeiro No RuleZ FC 2010 were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Idalécio Nogueira to make the kick off. After 55 minutes, Emílio Furtado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ladoeiro No RuleZ FC 2010 and the Municipales FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
