Henny Jans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perutxo Diego in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Henk Hofland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Perutxo Diego scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henny Jans, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ferry van Zalingen hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute of the match Antonio Entrala shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henny Jans showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 19th minute, Verwachting's Ralph Peeters ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oliviero Vados. Oliviero Vados yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After a rather tough play, E L C O K O F C ® E V G ®'s Marcos Sagastia got a free kick in the 22nd minute. When Marcos Sagastia came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the E L C O K O F C ® E V G ® fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos Sagastia couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the game, E L C O K O F C ® E V G ®'s Perutxo Diego nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henny Jans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After 30 played minutes Verwachting got a freekick which was hit by Ferry van Zalingen. Antonio Entrala took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Henny Jans. Verwachting's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rubio Echaitia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerrit Baker kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Joop Heinen hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Perutxo Diego managed to get in a good position for a shot. E L C O K O F C ® E V G ®'s supporters rose to their feet, but Perutxo Diego was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henny Jans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute, Rubio Echaitia made a precise shot to the right of Henny Jans. Verwachting's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. After the first half E L C O K O F C ® E V G ® were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

E L C O K O F C ® E V G ®'s Rubio Echaitia got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, E L C O K O F C ® E V G ®'s Henny Jans threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Perutxo Diego, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 64 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goal looked a bit too open when Perutxo Diego came free, but Henny Jans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of E L C O K O F C ® E V G ® booed when Verwachting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralph Peeters didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubio Echaitia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henny Jans having to interfere. Perutxo Diego succeeded in the game's 75th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-5. Henny Jans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perutxo Diego in the 82nd minute of play. After 88 minutes, Gerrit Baker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verwachting and the E L C O K O F C ® E V G ® players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Gerrit Baker got a free kick in the 88th minute. After 89 played minutes, E L C O K O F C ® E V G ®'s Antonio Entrala shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henny Jans came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in E L C O K O F C ® E V G ® reached it. Ralph Peeters struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Oliviero Vados didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verwachting. E L C O K O F C ® E V G ®'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
