The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Albiceleste F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Orain to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 15 minutes, Jorge Jon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albiceleste F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Jon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Albiceleste F.C. getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Higinio Fix hit a great ball. In the 19th minute, Honorio Oliverio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Jon's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Braulio Berasko firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 22 minutes, Ricardo Birila mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Albiceleste F.C. and the C. A. Atlanta players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Albiceleste F.C.'s Ricardo Birila got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Miguel Cordarrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 26 played minutes Albiceleste F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Tabb. Braulio Berasko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Jon in the 30th minute. Jorge Jon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Braulio Berasko when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Laureano Silviano made a great header on Albiceleste F.C.'s corner, it was just that C. A. Atlanta's Braulio Berasko managed to reach the ball for a save. Genaro Beltxe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Braulio Berasko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of C. A. Atlanta booed when Albiceleste F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Birila didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Federico Martxelin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Jon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Braulio Berasko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Genaro Beltxe made a kick off. Braulio Berasko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Jon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by C. A. Atlanta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Laureano Silviano was slow to take the kick. During this time Albiceleste F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. After 58 played minutes Albiceleste F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Birila. In the 59th match minute, C. A. Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Flores to maneuver through the defense. Marco Artal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Braulio Berasko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Cordarrell hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. If Miguel Cordarrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 78 minutes, Federico Martxelin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Atlanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Federico Martxelin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arturo Flores sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the match, C. A. Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Jon came free, but Braulio Berasko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Genaro Beltxe took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Braulio Berasko. Braulio Berasko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. C. A. Atlanta's Braulio Berasko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Jon in the 91st minute of play. After some careless play in the C. A. Atlanta defense, Jorge Jon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Braulio Berasko. The C. A. Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Braulio Berasko should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Albiceleste F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while C. A. Atlanta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
